American Black Walnut - Wide Stave Worktop - Character Grade
Our Wide Stave worktops are manufactured by hand using the finest African, European, and North American timber, creating a beautiful and individual kitchen worktop. Every worktop features wide, long staves which run the whole length of the worktop. This construction allows us to show the natural beauty of the wood and gives a more traditional look. The staves will vary in width across each worktop, typically 100-200mm.
Walnut is a popular choice for worktops and other interior woodwork as it is easy to work with and for its distinctive grain pattern and colours. Walnut predominantly contains a mixture of deep browns but also has shades of grey and even purple. These darker tones are contrasted by the light, even white, colour of the sapwood. The grain pattern can be quite irregular with occasional wild swirling patterns.
Character Grade worktops will contain a wide variety of different colours and grain patterns, knots may also be present and if loose will be secured using an appropriate hard filler.
